Why Japan gets so many Earthquakes and Tsunamis?

Earthquakes and Tsunamis are common in Japan.

Japan sits on the so-called Pacific " Ring of Fire".

It is a path along the Pacific Ocean characterized by active volcanoes and frequent earthquakes.

According to Scientists, the majority of Earth's volcanoes and earthquakes take place along the "Ring of Fire".

Japan accounts for 20 percent of the world's earthquakes of magnitude 6 or greater.

Japan experiences one earthquake every 5 minutes.

This results in massive Tsunamis caused by earthquakes or volcanic eruption.

Over 1,00,000 people died in 1923 after a massive earthquake of magnitude 7.9 hit Japan.

A magnitude 9.0 quake on Marck 11, 2011,  in Japan killed more than 18,000 people.
