Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone was born in New York City's Manhattan on July 16, 1946.

His mother was an American from Washington, D.C, while his father was an Italian migrant.

Post-birth, he suffered paralysis on the lower left side of his face.

As a result, he was bullied in his childhood due to his snarling look and slurred speech.

He attended the American College of Switzerland and the University of Miami and began his acting journey.

He has seen a lot of financial struggles.  He even had to sell his dog for $25 to pay his apartment rent.

The turning point came in his life after watching the boxing match between Mohammed Ali and Chuck Wepner.

The fight inspired him to write the script for the famous movie "ROCKY".

A studio offered Stallone $350,000 for his script, but he refused as he wanted to act in that movie.

Upon "ROCKY" release, Sylvester Stallone was a star, his movie was an all-time blockbuster.

In 1977, at the 49th Academy Awards, Rocky was nominated for 10 Oscars.

The movie went on to win the Academy awards for Best Picture, Best Directing, and Best Film Editing.

His journey has set an example, from a struggling actor to a Hollywood Legend.
